The Asantehene in 1850 knew there would be a breakout of Hostilities in America regarding Slavery. This fact was not incited by the Akans, but realized as Africans from Jamaica made their way back to Ghana by way of Sierra Leone and the Methodist Outposts on the coastline of West Africa. To note, the Asantehene decided the best route to forge at this juncture would be to support the British Efforts against slavery, and to ensure that the process of Abolition would spread throughout West Africa. Notably, the Akans would serve as leaders in this long forged process. It was thought by the Asante People and the Asantehene, through Democratic Meetings that the Blacks of the Diaspora would require assistance. Ghanaians at this juncture would make their way to the Colonies and Former Slaveholding mainstays of Britain to welcome back the peoples of the Diaspora to their homeland in line with the Liberian Protocolia Example. This effort would not fail, as Marcus Garvey - following along with the efforts of Ghanaian Chiefs in the regions of slavery explicating the requirement for repatriation of Blacks to their homelands.
